Santa has given the thumbs-up to the festivities and fare planned by KDT for Christmas Day 2011. “I’m jumping out of my sleigh for Lisa Soul and her band, a great local group with a happy funky sound, perfect for a tropical Christmas Day. Mrs. Clause is a soul music junkie.”

Santa’s talking about a four-course KDT Christmas spread that includes the likes of amuse bouche – a single, bite-sized hors d’œuvre – of crumbed brie with toasted pinenut puree and cranberry jelly, followed by freshly shucked Washington oysters. Entrees feature a seared ‘giant’ scallop with crispy smoked ham hock, and potato and leek soup; mains feature the traditional turkey in a KU DE TA style, that has to be savored to be believed. Don’t forget to save room for dessert, like a traditional Christmas pudding. Neither Santa nor Phil have forgotten about the children, and have a special menu up their sleeves.

5th Annual BALINALE 2011 International Film Festival

BALINALE International Film Festival was established in 2007 by Bali Taksu Indonesia Foundation, founded by Christine Hakim, Indonesia’s internationally recognized film actress and producer, and Deborah Gabinetti, director of Bali Film Center, the non-profit, non-government Indonesian registered charity organization provides an opportunity to invite foreign filmmakers to screen their films while experiencing Indonesia’s accommodating culture and diverse locations for possible film locations or story ideas.

BALINALE 2011 will host a special ASEAN Film Focus that aims to promote production in the region and expose the talented individuals behind the local film industry. The festival also gives Indonesian filmmakers an opportunity to present their work to a global audience while networking with international filmmakers.

Workshops and free seminars are an important part of the festival, a number of which offer Indonesian students and young filmmakers an opportunity to learn from established Indonesian and international professionals. World Mask Festival
Bali’s region of Buleleng will play host to the World Mask Festival to be held November 23-26, 2011. Home to its own unique mask tradition of the Wayang Wong centered in the village of Tejakula, 40 kilometers east of Buleleng’s capital of Singaraja, Buleleng has the backing of the International Mask Arts & Culture Organization (IMACO) in hosting the event expecting to attract 300 foreign participants representing 56 countries .
In anticipation of a gathering or world mask performers, the government is preparing the Gedung Budaya located near the former port of Buleleng at a cost of Rp. 3 billion (US$333,000) with work targeted to be completed by September.
Su-Hyun Kwan of IMACO, one of the founders of the World Mask Festival, visited Buleleng on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, to personally inspect the preparations for the November event. He told the press that Buleleng was a natural choice for the festival given Tejakula’s special connection with mask dancing.

Kuta Karnival “Light Up The World”: Bali’s 9th Annual International Event

This event will be officially opened by The Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Republic of Indonesia, will also attended by local government officials and community leaders Kuta.

The opening event will be held at Jaba Pura Segara Kuta with enlivened by performances of traditional Balinese dances, followed by a colossal Kecak dance which will involve 250 people dancing.

As the summit opening ceremony, the guests and all the people who attended both local and tourists will be invited along to participate in The Sunset Parade leading to the area of Music and Food Festival Fiesta on the beach front area of Kuta.
